Het nieuwe stuk ‘An Awful Time To Be Alive’ van Fant de Kante voor Liza Ferschtman en het Concertgebouw Kamerorkest is een nauwgezette verklanking van het aangrijpende gedicht Varykino Ballade van de Chinese dichter Wang Jiaxin. De setting in dit gedicht is de sleutelscene uit Pasternak’s Dokter Zjivago uit 1957, maar het gedicht is geschreven in het najaar van 1989, na de Tiananmen protesten.

FaKruTu Dakar Edition is a vibrant mix of Senegalese percussion, vocals, and electric grooves by the FaKruTu Trio. Recorded live at TivoliVredenburg during the 15th anniversary of the World Music Forum NL, the performance showcases energetic and soulful music that crosses cultural boundaries.

FaKruTu Dakar Edition is a musical experience that spans from Dakar to Amsterdam, bringing together a passionate powerhouse of established musicians from Senegal, Netherlands, and the United States. Senegalese percussion and songs blend with the eclectic and electric grooves of the FaKruTu Trio. The band has built a reputation for delivering high-energy, soulful performances that get the audience on their feet.
