Musici van het Concertgebouworkest brengen Amsterdamse composities tot leven. Tijdens het eerste concert in de serie Close-up van dit seizoen viert het 750-jarig bestaan van de stad Amsterdam met muziek van componisten die een directe band hebben met de hoofdstad. Van de vroegbarokke klanken van de ‘Amsterdamse Orpheus’ Jan Pieterzoon Sweelinck tot en met het hedendaagse idioom van Theo Loevendie, die al jaren direct achter Het Concertgebouw woont.

FaKruTu Dakar Edition is a vibrant mix of Senegalese percussion, vocals, and electric grooves by the FaKruTu Trio. Recorded live at TivoliVredenburg during the 15th anniversary of the World Music Forum NL, the performance showcases energetic and soulful music that crosses cultural boundaries.

FaKruTu Dakar Edition is a musical experience that spans from Dakar to Amsterdam, bringing together a passionate powerhouse of established musicians from Senegal, Netherlands, and the United States. Senegalese percussion and songs blend with the eclectic and electric grooves of the FaKruTu Trio. The band has built a reputation for delivering high-energy, soulful performances that get the audience on their feet.
