Het overbruggen van verschillen. Dat is het thema van de 65e editie van het Haagse festival Dag in de Branding. De door corona afgedwongen fysieke afstand staat centraal in ‘Three Degrees from Reality’ van Ezequiel Menalled voor ensemble Modelo62. Hoornist Morris Kliphuis en pianist Joanna Duda onderzoeken de connectie tussen de barok en nu. Peter-Jan Wagemans verbindt jazz met modern klassiek. In ‘Toonzetters’, een collectieve compositie voor 2 piano’s en 2 slagwerkers, vormen 20 jonge componisten samen een veelstemmig palet.

FaKruTu Dakar Edition

FaKruTu Dakar Edition is a vibrant mix of Senegalese percussion, vocals, and electric grooves by the FaKruTu Trio. Recorded live at TivoliVredenburg during the 15th anniversary of the World Music Forum NL, the performance showcases energetic and soulful music that crosses cultural boundaries.

FaKruTu Dakar Edition is a musical experience that spans from Dakar to Amsterdam, bringing together a passionate powerhouse of established musicians from Senegal, Netherlands, and the United States. Senegalese percussion and songs blend with the eclectic and electric grooves of the FaKruTu Trio. The band has built a reputation for delivering high-energy, soulful performances that get the audience on their feet.
