Op dinsdagmiddag zijn de eerste klanken van Soundsofmusic 2022 die van “De Toren” (1988) van Louis Andriessen, gespeeld door Bob van der Linde. De minimal compositie verwijst naar de functie van het klokkenspel van kerktorens om de tijd aan te geven. Andriessen zei hierover: “mijn vader nam mij als kind na de oorlog mee naar de Domtoren om naar de luidklokken te luisteren. Dat was een van de sterkste muzikale ervaringen uit mijn vroege jeugd”.

FaKruTu Dakar Edition is a musical experience that spans from Dakar to Amsterdam, bringing together a passionate powerhouse of established musicians from Senegal, Netherlands, and the United States. Senegalese percussion and songs blend with the eclectic and electric grooves of the FaKruTu Trio. The band has built a reputation for delivering high-energy, soulful performances that get the audience on their feet.
