El Pueblo

Bart Spaan op NM24.png

In The People United Will Never Be Defeated! transformeert Rzewski een protestlied van de Chileense Sergio Ortega tot een groot werk van ruim een uur, waarin het lied in allerlei stijlen en variaties terugkomt. Vanuit het elektronische werk El Pueblo van Bart Spaan, waarin groepen mensen 'The people united will never be defeated!' roepen, begint Rzewski.

Maar het is pijnlijk hoe actueel Rzewski's The People United Will Never Be Defeated! nu weer is.
