Deze editie van Festival Dag in de Branding staat geheel in het teken van hout. Hout om op te timmeren, hout om instrumenten van te bouwen, maar ook het hout van de bomen die wij nodig hebben om te overleven. Het thema komt uit de koker van gastcurator Helena Basilova, pianist en componist, die een rijk programma samenstelde. Als afsluiter presenteert Helena haar eigen nieuwste project: Arbor (wat inderdaad ‘boom’ betekent).

FaKruTu Dakar Edition

FaKruTu Dakar Edition is a vibrant mix of Senegalese percussion, vocals, and electric grooves by the FaKruTu Trio. Recorded live at TivoliVredenburg during the 15th anniversary of the World Music Forum NL, the performance showcases energetic and soulful music that crosses cultural boundaries.

FaKruTu Dakar Edition is a musical experience that spans from Dakar to Amsterdam, bringing together a passionate powerhouse of established musicians from Senegal, Netherlands, and the United States. Senegalese percussion and songs blend with the eclectic and electric grooves of the FaKruTu Trio. The band has built a reputation for delivering high-energy, soulful performances that get the audience on their feet.
