Douwe Eisenga schreef zijn pianostuk ‘For Mattia’ als eerbetoon aan een gestorven jonge vrouw van 26, op verzoek van haar ouders. Hij speelt het stuk zelf. Op een licht ontstemde staande piano maakte hij een opname, die razendsnel steeg in de klassieke top 400. Eisenga kwam vol in de schijnwerpers te staan met zijn contemplatieve pianostuk, het soort muziek waarvoor de term ‘neoklassiek’ nieuw leven in is geblazen.

FaKruTu Dakar Edition is a musical experience that spans from Dakar to Amsterdam, bringing together a passionate powerhouse of established musicians from Senegal, Netherlands, and the United States. Senegalese percussion and songs blend with the eclectic and electric grooves of the FaKruTu Trio. The band has built a reputation for delivering high-energy, soulful performances that get the audience on their feet.
