De monodrama Lullaby volgt een moeder op zoek naar het juiste slaapliedje om haar baby in slaap te wiegen. Haar pogingen raken verloren in de protestkreten die door het raam naar binnen stromen. Ze wordt steeds rustelozer, terwijl het protest alsmaar aanzwelt. De moeder zit gevangen tussen haar veilige binnenwereld en de behoefte om deel te nemen aan de omwentelingen die zich buiten afspelen. Kan ze haar kindje geruststellen, terwijl om hen heen het gevecht voor zijn toekomst woedt?

De muziektheater voorstelling is geschreven voor de veelgeprezen sopraan Laura Bohn. Door Componist Kamala Sankaram verweven tot een kaleidoscopisch geluidslandschap van een medidatief slaaplied, protestzangen, en jazzy ritmes. FaKruTu Dakar Edition is a musical experience that spans from Dakar to Amsterdam, bringing together a passionate powerhouse of established musicians from Senegal, Netherlands, and the United States. Senegalese percussion and songs blend with the eclectic and electric grooves of the FaKruTu Trio. The band has built a reputation for delivering high-energy, soulful performances that get the audience on their feet.
