Een meeslepende reis door de toekomst van de jazz: vol kleur, dynamiek en lef. Duik in het bijzondere universum van pianist en componist Rembrandt Frerichs, waarin de harmonische rijkdom van Messiaen, de spirituele diepgang van Coltrane en de ritmische kracht van Stravinsky naadloos samenkomen.

Voor Gaudeamus schreef Frerichs het programma Off the Carousel: een avontuurlijke compositie voor een extended jazz ensemble. Nu gaat dit 'mini-metropole orkest' op tournee met vijf strijkers, een kleurrijke blazerssectie en een energieke ritmesectie.Frerichs werkt met een hechte groep musici die zijn open manier van componeren omarmen. FaKruTu Dakar Edition is a musical experience that spans from Dakar to Amsterdam, bringing together a passionate powerhouse of established musicians from Senegal, Netherlands, and the United States. Senegalese percussion and songs blend with the eclectic and electric grooves of the FaKruTu Trio. The band has built a reputation for delivering high-energy, soulful performances that get the audience on their feet.
