Rembrandt Frerichs en de Staalmee­sters

In de Nieuwe Kerk brengt pianist Rembrandt Frerichs met de Staalmeester zijn eerste twee pianoconcerten een spannende dialoog vol muzikale verrassingen.

Rembrandt hanteert een ‘black page’ met voorgeschreven noten voor het ensemble en laat zich vanuit een ‘white page’ door het moment inspireren. De muzikale fantasie krijgt tijdens het concert vorm en door dit creatieve uitgangspunt is elke uitvoering anders. Al het werk van Rembrandt is een ode aan de veelvormigheid van de wereld, een viering van meerstemmigheid. Over Gershwin werd wel gezegd dat zijn beste improvisaties klonken alsof ze gecomponeerd waren. In Rembrandt zijn muziek hoor je vaak het omgekeerde: gecomponeerde muziek die klinkt alsof ze geïmproviseerd is, maar waarvan voor de klassieke musici op het podium tóch alle noten op papier staan.

FaKruTu Dakar Edition is a musical experience that spans from Dakar to Amsterdam, bringing together a passionate powerhouse of established musicians from Senegal, Netherlands, and the United States. Senegalese percussion and songs blend with the eclectic and electric grooves of the FaKruTu Trio. The band has built a reputation for delivering high-energy, soulful performances that get the audience on their feet.
