In deze aflevering spreekt Aad van Nieuwkerk met componist Diederik van der Laag – dit jaar de stadscomponist van Utrecht voor de Dag van de Componist op zaterdag 20 juni. Diederik heeft zichzelf weleens een 'vocal composer' genoemd. Hij schrijft dan ook voornamelijk vocale muziek, met in het bijzonder muziek voor koor. Maar gaandeweg het gesprek komen ze ook op black metal, jazz en improvisatie, teksten van jezelf of van anderen, het Utrechts Requiem, en op het effect van ruimtelijke plaatsing van zangers of musici tijdens een concert.

FaKruTu Dakar Edition is a musical experience that spans from Dakar to Amsterdam, bringing together a passionate powerhouse of established musicians from Senegal, Netherlands, and the United States. Senegalese percussion and songs blend with the eclectic and electric grooves of the FaKruTu Trio. The band has built a reputation for delivering high-energy, soulful performances that get the audience on their feet.
