Climate Change
Joan Reinders
In Bleeding Amazonia Part 6: Climate Change, Joan Reinders uses his composition to express the gravity of the ongoing climate crisis. Featuring Lílian Vieira’s evocative vocals and poetry, with a poignant trombone solo by Jan Peter van der Hoeve and an anchoring bassline by Bart Tarenskeen, the piece powerfully evokes the feelings of urgency and helplessness in the face of environmental destruction. The Millennium Jazz Orchestra, under Reinders’ direction, blends jazz and orchestral sounds to reflect the complex realities of climate change. Recorded in Wisseloord Studios in 2021, this part of Bleeding Amazonia serves as a musical call to action.
