Dishwasher_ is a three-piece band from Ghent, Belgium, that aims to bring jazz to the "non-jazzbelievers." Their mission is clear: to break down the walls between genres and create a fresh, exciting sound that resonates beyond the traditional jazz scene. The band began when bassist Louise Van Den Heuvel and drummer Arno Grootaers met during their bachelor studies at the Conservatorium Maastricht, known for its international reach. After connecting with saxophonist/synthesist Werend Van Den Bossche, they began jamming and performing free improvisation concerts, which eventually led to the formation of Dishwasher_.Starting just before the pandemic, the band faced initial challenges with meeting up, but used the time to write and experiment independently.
