Flora and Fauna

Joan Reinders

Bleeding Amazonia Part 2: Flora and Fauna by Joan Reinders delves into the rich life of the Amazon, inspired by Thiago de Mello’s poem O animal da Floresta. Lílian Vieira’s expressive vocals and Dirk Balthaus’ piano solo evoke the delicate balance of the forest’s ecosystem. The Millennium Jazz Orchestra, with solos from Gerlo Hesselink, Rob Sijben, and Gregor Sperzel, blends jazz, classical, and Brazilian rhythms to bring the vibrant life of the rainforest to the forefront. The rhythm section, led by Bart Tarenskeen, Felix Schlarmann, and Vincent Spitters, provides the foundation for this dynamic piece. Recorded at Wisseloord Studios in 2021.
