Melting Pot is the third film in the Mini Music Movies series, an artistic triptych showcasing the custom-made instruments of Rob van den Broek. The piece was first performed by the Ragazze Quartet with Anne-Maartje Lemereis' composition Dear Wishing Well. For this short film, composer and cellist Maya Fridman created an intense and atmospheric soundtrack that immerses the viewer in the design universe within Rob van den Broek's mind. The soundscape, crafted by Fridman, was molded and mixed by Brendon Heinst at TRPTK, creating an enveloping and immersive sonic experience. The stop-motion animation emphasizes the “custom-made” nature of the instruments. The film was created in collaboration with Stichting QEM.
