Ansgar Wallenhorst’s improvisation on a theme inspired by the powerful acoustics of the famous Müller organ in Haarlem. The performance captures the raw power and color of the instrument in a deeply immersive and emotional experience.

Ansgar used the hyper-organ, which represents both the playing console of the Sauer organ and the Utopa Baroque organ. "This theme is one of three themes I composed for the final round of the 47th International Organ Improvisation Competition in Haarlem. For this assignment, I had the incredible opportunity to play the famous Müller organ in the Grote Sint-Bavokerk. It was absolutely awe-inspiring to experience the acoustics of the church by simply touching a key or pressing a pedal, feeling the power of this colorful 'orchestra'—it was truly overwhelming. For my composer portrait, I invited the German improviser Ansgar Wallenhorst, whom I discovered a few years ago, to improvise on this theme."Video: Sergio Gridelli Music Recording and Mixing: Micha de Kanter
