The American blues, which once originated from forced migration, finds a parallel story in Raj Mohan. As the great-grandchild of Indian contract workers, he moved from Suriname to the Netherlands. Once an adult, Raj Mohan developed into a charismatic singer-songwriter who interprets the blues, sung in Hindi, Urdi, Sarnámi or Srangani. In his music, Mohan combines classical songs from North India (ghazals) with self-written repertoire.Musicians:Raj Mohan - Vocals / Harmonium / GuitarMark Alban Lotz - FluteMelanie Tangkau - Double BassSuresh Sardjoe - TablaTammo Heikens - GitaarLive from Cloud Nine in TivoliVredenburg
