The album showcases a wide range of compositions, from the delicate solo piano piece with a single octave of lonely but touching notes (Celia Swart – Loosing) to expansive electronic soundscapes (Dimitri Geelhoed – IJsjager), and from the infectious Persian musical language of Ramin Amin Tafreshi to the intricate Zoekspiegel by Arjan Linker.Sprookje no. 1 is a whimsical and imaginative composition, performed by Shane van Neerden, Ramon van Engelenhoven, Agostinho Sequeira, and Arjan Jongsma. The piece, with its playful and enchanting musical elements, evokes the sense of a fairy tale, filled with mystery and wonder. Recorded with great care by 7 Mountain Records, this piece adds a magical element to the Toonzetters album.
