A legendary evening with Supersister, revisiting their progressive pop and jazz-influenced music with new orchestral arrangements, alongside Robert Jan Stips and the Residentie Orkest.

When you say The Hague, you say underground. Fifty years ago, a group of students from the Grotius Lyceum decided to immerse themselves in the experimental energy that filled the air. The evolution of Supersister is deeply intertwined with the development of The Hague as a music city. The band was one of the first to play in the newly opened Paard van Troje in 1972. Later, musical leader Robert Jan Stips collaborated with the likes of Golden Earring, Sweet d’Buster, Gruppo Sportivo, Freek de Jonge, and, of course, NITS.Think progressive pop with jazz influences, swinging grooves, and an occasional Zappa-like twist. On this evening, alongside the current lineup of this legendary band, we’ll not only revive the Dutch Woodstock vibes at Amare, but also trace the development of Supersister’s music through original and newly written orchestral arrangements created especially for this occasion.Performers:Robert Jan Stips – keyboards/vocalsRinus Gerritsen – bassLeon Klaasse – drums/vocalsHans Leenders – conductorResidentie Orkest
