This work explores the evolving concept of freedom, drawing inspiration from political figures, philosophers, and poets such as Buddha, Franklin D. Roosevelt, and Martin Luther King Jr. Blending various musical genres from minimalism to ambient, world music, and avant-pop, The Freedom Songs celebrates freedom through its experimental, immersive soundscapes. This composition, commissioned by Fulcrum Point New Music Project, offers an evolving structure, suitable for music theater or ballet, and features a rich combination of instruments including female voice, flugelhorn, electric guitar, and percussion.
