Arbre Généalogique
Rozalie Hirs
Arbre Généalogique is a deep, introspective piece that blends vocal and instrumental textures into a rich, multi-layered performance. Through Susan Narucki’s evocative soprano and the ASKO|Schönberg ensemble’s precise execution, Hirs' composition comes to life, capturing the essence of ancestral connections.
On November 13, 2011, the composition Arbre Généalogique by Rozalie Hirs was performed as part of the November Music Festival in Den Bosch. This new work, commissioned by the ASKO|Schönberg ensemble and supported by the Fonds Podiumkunsten, featured soprano Susan Narucki, conductor Pierre-André Valade, and the ASKO|Schönberg ensemble. The piece explores themes of heritage and family trees, weaving intricate textures that reflect the complexities of genealogy. The performance, held at the Verkadefabriek, was a profound exploration of Hirs’ unique sound language.
