Kamerkoor JIP is a choir based in Utrecht, consisting of young, talented singers who, in their free time, enjoy making music at a high level under the artistic direction of brothers Jonathan and Imre Ploeg. With a unique thematic and contemporary programming approach, Kamerkoor JIP occupies a distinct place in the landscape of amateur choirs. Their projects are closely connected to current social issues, shedding new light on them through music. As a choir deeply embedded in society, Kamerkoor JIP pushes the boundaries of choral music by engaging in bold collaborations and intentionally seeking out new audiences. The choir's repertoire mainly consists of works by contemporary composers and music from the 20th century.
Het Utrechtse Kamerkoor JIP bestaat uit jonge, getalenteerde zangers die in hun vrije tijd graag op hoog niveau muziek maken onder de artistieke leiding van de broers Jonathan en Imre Ploeg. Met bijzondere thematische en actuele programmering neemt Kamerkoor JIP een geheel eigen plek in het landschap van amateurkoren in. De projecten van JIP sluiten aan bij dat wat in de samenleving leeft en werpen hier een nieuw licht op. Als koor dat midden in de maatschappij staat, zoekt JIP de grenzen van de koordiscipline op door gedurfde samenwerkingen aan te gaan en bewust en gericht nieuwe publieksgroepen op te zoeken. Het repertoire van JIP bestaat meestal uit hedendaagse componisten en muziek uit de 20e eeuw.
