Since arriving at the Conservatory of Amsterdam in 2015, Brazilian saxophonist (and clarinetist, flutist) Lucas Figueiredo Santana has played in a wide variety of ensembles. From trios and quartets to quintets and big bands (including the Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw and Metropole Orkest), he has explored a broad range of jazz, blues, soul, and Brazilian music. Recently, Lucas Santana has focused on his own quintet, which released its debut album Reflections in April 2021 on Zennez Records. The music for Reflections was composed and recorded during the 2020 lockdown and aims to convey some of Lucas’ personal reflections about himself and the world through his music.Lucas Santana – SaxophoneDavor Stehlik – GuitarTijs Klaassen – Double bassTim Hennekes – DrumsTimothy Banchet – Piano
