Tri-Angle-Square
Toonzetters is an album featuring 20 composers, all in their twenties, who wrote 3-minute compositions for piano four- or two hands and/or percussion. The result is a dynamic auditory portrait of the new generation of composers in The Netherlands, forming a continuous musical narrative. The compositions range from delicate solo piano works (Celia Swart – Loosing) to expansive electronic soundscapes (Dimitri Geelhoed – IJsjager), and from the infectious Persian musical language of Ramin Amin Tafreshi to the clever Zoekspiegel by Arjan Linker.Tri-Angle-Square is one of the more rhythmically complex pieces, performed by Shane van Neerden, Ramon van Engelenhoven, Agostinho Sequeira, and Arjan Jongsma. The piece explores geometric shapes and patterns in its rhythmic structure, creating a captivating auditory exploration of symmetry and contrast. It brings a modern and experimental flair to the Toonzetters album, pushing the boundaries of conventional structure.
